This is a case where the design is truly capital. For 100 years, the house of the shipowner Shorin has remained the most beautiful in Gorokhovets, outshining other buildings that looked like nothing despite being new.

Bold colors echo the bold, almost church-like architecture. A rare case of a wooden house-a log house, no less (!)-in the Art Deco style, though the only word that fully captures it is "original."3
The towers differ in every detail, even though the symmetrical facade facing the road is meant to be the main one.4
Small herringbone slats are the main design device of the upper level.5
The log ends are capped with elegant covers carved with patterns.6
Every window is different. It's interesting how a strategy of maximum variety can produce a single, harmonious image.7
