In this house it's interesting how the single-story volumes are pushed forward while the two-story volumes are tucked behind. It's a spacious home, scaled to ordinary daily life (in a warm country, by the sea).2
In hot countries they used to build canopies or awnings over the windows. Today, films and coatings on the glass block the sun, some simply reflective, others more advanced, filtering mainly the ultraviolet and infrared while dimming ordinary light less.3
A low concrete wall by the entrance adds an intermediate level of privacy, creating a sense of growing seclusion as you approach. It's an inviting home.4
A chimney with no separate cap; it's cast directly in concrete.Facade #6628 from Archi.Capital base.
