The house is a clear precursor to the Prairie style. The first floor has already been swallowed up by remodeling.

The design is built on contrasts. Interestingly, the bollards are dark and the railing posts are light-a rare touch.3
Tall bollards frame the front entrance, a simple and effective solution. They also allowed for a single horizontal line along the top of the fence.4
