#868. Traditional Russian wooden house with intricate carved green facade

Before us stands a magnificent example of traditional Russian wooden architecture with characteristic features of folk craftsmanship and elements of Art Nouveau from the early 20th century. The house is painted in a soft green color, creating a harmonious contrast with the white decorative elements.

The facade is distinguished by rich carved decor, particularly noticeable in the window frame designs. The ground floor windows are adorned with exquisite carved frames featuring semi-circular tops and decorative shell-like elements. The window sills are also decorated with carved details, giving the facade special expressiveness.

The upper floor of the house is crowned with a triangular pediment featuring a semi-circular lunette window, characteristic of dacha architecture from that period. The roof is covered with metal, which was typical for more affluent homesteads.

Particularly noteworthy are the decorative trim under the cornice and the openwork brackets of the porch, demonstrating the high craftsmanship of the woodcarvers. The horizontal cladding (tongue and groove) gives the building visual integrity, while vertical elements at the corners of the building accentuate its structure.

This is a beautifully preserved example of regional architecture, demonstrating a synthesis of practical wooden construction and the aesthetics of folk decorative arts.
