Contemporary Contrasting Façade with Dynamic Volume Composition

#8588. Contemporary Contrasting Façade with Dynamic Volume Composition

The presented building demonstrates an expressive interpretation of contemporary architecture with clean geometric forms and contrasting façade solutions. The main volume of the building is clad with dark gray horizontal siding, which creates an effect of monolithic appearance and laconicism. Special emphasis is placed on the light-colored protruding bay window with panoramic glazing, which contrasts with the main dark façade and adds dynamism to the entire composition.

The façade is built on a play of volumes – projecting and recessed elements form an interesting light-and-shadow plasticity. The flat roof with wide overhangs is a characteristic element of modern architecture, giving the building a horizontal directional emphasis. The abundance of glass surfaces not only provides maximum natural lighting for the interior spaces but also creates an impressive reflection of the surrounding natural landscape.

A small terrace with minimalist furniture organically continues the architectural concept of the building. The contextual solution is noteworthy – the house is tactfully integrated into the surrounding environment with tall trees, creating a harmonious dialogue between architecture and nature. The landscape design using low shrubs and concrete retaining walls complements the overall composition.

For application in private housing construction, the following techniques can be noted: contrasting combination of materials (dark and light façade), use of horizontal siding for visual expansion of the building, installation of panoramic glazing in the area of main rooms, organization of protruding volumes to create a dynamic silhouette, as well as integration of open terraces and use of a flat roof with wide overhangs to create a contemporary image.
