Modern façade with contrasting materials: harmony of wood, glass and concrete on a slope

#8566. Modern façade with contrasting materials: harmony of wood, glass and concrete on a slope

The modern house presented in the image features expressive architecture that combines functionality and aesthetic qualities. The design's distinctive feature is its three-level structure with a striking contrast of materials: a gray concrete base on the lower level, wooden cladding on the middle floor, and a stylish dark gray roof with an original wooden soffit.

The façade demonstrates a successful example of a contemporary chalet interpretation with an asymmetrical mono-pitched roof. The upper level impresses with panoramic glazing featuring minimalist frames, creating a sense of merger between the interior space and the natural surroundings. Special attention is drawn to the glass railing of the second-floor terrace, emphasizing the lightness of the structure and providing an unobstructed view.

The building's architecture is organically integrated into the terrain of the sloped site, creating a cascading effect and visually lightening the mass of the structure. The lower level is partially recessed into the ground, which not only provides structural stability but also creates an interesting visual effect of a floating volume.

For your own façade design, several techniques can be borrowed from this project: contrasting combination of materials (wood, concrete, metal), use of large glazed areas to create a connection with the surrounding landscape, playing with roof geometry, and integration of terraces and protruding elements to create façade dynamics. Vertical landscaping and garden design, as seen in the foreground, also play an important role in forming a holistic image of the house.
