Art Nouveau Facade with Floral Stained Glass and Gilded Decoration

#7325. Art Nouveau Facade with Floral Stained Glass and Gilded Decoration

The image showcases an excellent example of Art Nouveau architectural decoration adorning a building facade. The central element of the composition is an exquisite stained glass decor with symmetrically arranged floral motifs. The stained glass demonstrates the characteristic flowing, organic forms of Art Nouveau, depicting stylized flowers, presumably poppies or water lilies, with green leaves and blue elements against a white background.

Surrounding the stained glass is a stone framing structure made of sandstone or limestone. A vertical gilded decorative element in the center, executed in stylized floral forms, divides the stained glass composition into two symmetrical parts. Below the stained glass is a relief decoration typical of Art Nouveau style, featuring abstract geometric elements that flow smoothly into one another.

The lower part of the facade fragment is adorned with classical architectural elements featuring a repeating relief ornament. The color palette of the entire ensemble is restrained, with predominant natural stone tones contrasting with the bright colors of the stained glass and the gilding of the central decorative element. This is a superb example of the integration of decorative arts into the architectural context of the early 20th century.
