Elegant Art Nouveau facade with an expressive central risalit

#7047. Elegant Art Nouveau facade with an expressive central risalit

The presented image demonstrates an excellent example of early 20th century architecture with elements of Art Nouveau and Neoclassicism. We see a fragment of building №24's facade, designed in light tones with a pronounced central risalit in a gray-blue color. The central part of the facade is accentuated by vertical articulation and a decorative semicircular pediment at the top.

The window openings deserve special attention. The central part features three tiers of windows in various shapes: in the upper tier — an arched window with radial division, in the middle — an impressive window with a semicircular completion and fan-shaped decorative element, and in the lower tier — rectangular elongated windows. The lateral parts of the facade have a more austere design with rectangular window openings.

The facade is rich in architectural details: horizontal bands emphasizing the tiered composition, decorative stucco, and vertical elements creating rhythm. A contrasting combination of light gray and darker gray-blue colors is used, highlighting the architectural articulations and giving the building expressiveness.

When designing a modern facade, several techniques seen here can be borrowed: vertical articulation of the central part to visually increase height, use of contrasting colors to highlight architectural elements, variety of window openings to create an individual appearance, and rhythmic arrangement of decorative elements. This approach will allow creating a harmonious and expressive facade even for a small private house.
