#5037. Blue Northern Art Nouveau Facade with Baroque Elements

A magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture with prominent baroque elements. The facade displays a striking combination of blue tiling and white decorative elements, creating a contrasting and memorable composition. The vertical articulation of the facade is emphasized by elegant full-length caryatids positioned between the window openings of the upper floors.

Particular attention is drawn to two balconies with wrought iron railings, which add depth and expressiveness to the facade. The windows are framed with exquisite casings featuring bas-reliefs and decorative elements. Above the windows of the lower floor are richly adorned pediments with stucco work, while the upper parts of the pilasters are crowned with Corinthian capitals.

A Swedish flag can be seen on the second-floor balcony, suggesting the building's possible affiliation with Swedish representation or cultural organization. The architectural ensemble of the facade embodies the ideas of Northern Art Nouveau with its aspiration to synthesize functionality and decorative expressiveness. The color scheme of blue ceramic tiles gives the building a distinctive northern elegance characteristic of Scandinavian architectural tradition.
