Elegant Art Nouveau Facade with "1900" Date Medallion

#5644. Elegant Art Nouveau Facade with "1900" Date Medallion

The photograph shows a fragment of a building in the Art Nouveau style from the early 20th century. The central part of the facade is adorned with an exquisite decorative element featuring the date "1900" inscribed in a medallion. The ornamental cartouche with the numerals is surrounded by elegant scrolls and floral motifs, characteristic of Art Nouveau architecture.

The facade is finished in light tones with a contrasting gray-blue background, which emphasizes the dimensionality and plasticity of the decorative elements. On the sides of the composition are classical Ionic capitals, while the lower part is complemented by decorative brackets with plant ornaments. Fragments of wrought iron balcony railings with a pattern typical of Art Nouveau can be seen, executed in blue, creating an interesting coloristic accent.

The architectural solution demonstrates a transitional period from historicism to Art Nouveau, combining classical elements (capitals, rusticated elements) with the plastic, flowing forms of Art Nouveau. The date "1900" symbolically points to the turn of the century, when Art Nouveau began to actively gain popularity in European architecture.
