Exquisite Mint Facade with Baroque Elements: Portal of House No. 181

#4237. Exquisite Mint Facade with Baroque Elements: Portal of House No. 181

Before us is a magnificent example of historical urban architecture — a doorway portal of house No. 181, executed in an eclectic style with neo-baroque elements. The facade is painted in a delicate turquoise (mint) color, creating an expressive contrast with the warm brown tones of the wooden door.

The doorway is framed by an ornate decorative portal with a semicircular arch above. Particularly eye-catching are the sculptural elements: on both sides of the entrance are reliefs of female heads crafted in a classical manner, reminiscent of antique caryatids or mascarons. Below them are decorative lion masks — a traditional symbol of protection and power.

The door itself represents an exquisite example of carpentry artistry — a wooden structure with a richly adorned wrought-iron grill displaying an intricate filigree pattern. The upper part of the door is crowned with a semicircular transom window, allowing natural light to penetrate into the entryway.

The house number — 181 — is positioned on a decorative plate at the top of the portal, harmoniously integrating into the overall composition. This architectural detail reflects the attention to aesthetics and high quality of execution characteristic of historical buildings in European cities from the late 19th to early 20th century.
