Historic Façade with Carved Oak Door and Lion Mask

#1999. Historic Façade with Carved Oak Door and Lion Mask

Before us is a magnificent example of a historical entrance portal with a richly decorated double-leaf door executed in classical style. The wooden door, crafted from solid oak, showcases an intricate geometric pattern with diagonal cross motifs, diamond-shaped elements, and multi-level panels creating an effect of depth and volume.

Particular attention is drawn to the arched completion of the door, accentuated by a stone frame. The most expressive element of the façade decoration is the sculptural keystone above the entrance, fashioned as a lion mask — a classical motif symbolizing protection and power. Above the mask, decorative carving with initials or a date, possibly the year of the building's construction, is noticeable.

The door is organically integrated into the light-colored façade of the building, designed in neoclassical style with characteristic rustication flanking the portal. On the right side of the façade, the house number 27 is visible. The contrast between the dark wood of the door and the light stucco of the façade gives the entrance group additional expressiveness, emphasizing the status of the building, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
