Decorative Art Deco Brick Facade with Neo-Aztec Motifs

#1077. Decorative Art Deco Brick Facade with Neo-Aztec Motifs

Before us is a striking example of a decorative brick facade in Art Deco style with Neo-Aztec motifs. The composition is based on yellow brick organized into geometric ornamental structures, creating an effect of rhythm and monumentality.

The facade is crowned with a spectacular sun-like finish in the form of a fan-shaped semicircle with radial elements. The central part features a geometric pattern of diagonally laid bricks forming a diamond-shaped composition with a shield-like element in the center. This technique creates an illusion of depth and dynamics on the flat facade.

Of particular interest are the mascarons in the upper part of the building — stylized sculptural faces embedded in the brickwork. They give the structure anthropomorphic features, referring to ancient Mesoamerican traditions of architectural decoration. Horizontal rows of protruding bricks form a zigzag relief, enhancing the play of light and shadow on the facade surface.

The color scheme is based on a warm palette — from light sandy to terracotta, with vertical accents of red brick on the right side of the facade. Such architectural detailing is characteristic of public buildings from the first half of the 20th century, when facade decorativeness served as an important element representing the status of the structure.
