The house confidently combines modernity and tactility. There's no superfluous decoration here, clean forms, materials, and light do all the work.
The massing plays on contrast, heavy monolithic concrete blocks paired with light wooden inserts, creating a rhythm of the heavy and the airy.2
The perforated wall on the right is a powerful accent. The geometric pattern turns a blank surface into lace, letting light through and adding graphic interest. It's a classic modernist device, but here it also enhances privacy.3
The cantilevered projections of the second floor emphasize horizontality. The house seems to float above the lot, an effect heightened by the deep, dark shadows beneath the overhangs.4
The exposed concrete is an honest material, left unembellished. The formwork marks are visible, adding tactility. Brutalism in a modern reading, but never aggressive.5
Wooden slats on the fence and parts of the facade soften the severity of the concrete. The vertical rhythm of the slats contrasts with the horizontal lines of the overhangs.Facade #18819 from Archi.Capital base.
