#990. Art Nouveau wrought iron façade element in butterfly form with stone floral decor

The image captures an exquisite element of Art Nouveau architecture — a decorative wrought iron grille of a window or balcony, crafted in the form of a stylized butterfly or bat. This is a characteristic example of Catalan Modernism (possibly a work in the style of Antoni Gaudí or his followers), where natural motifs are transformed into functional elements of the building.

The ironwork structure is distinguished by its symmetry and richness of detail: filigree wings with geometric mesh patterns are framed by elegant floral elements, the central part is stylized as an insect body with a segmented structure, and the upper part is crowned with spiral antennae and spherical elements. The entire metal composition contrasts with the soft blue background of the window opening and is framed by elements of a greenish hue, creating a harmonious color scheme.

At the bottom of the façade element, there is a stone sculptural detail in the form of a flower — a typical Art Nouveau plant ornament carved from sandstone. This combination of wrought iron and carved stone demonstrates the characteristic approach to façade design at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, where various materials are combined into a unified artistic composition.
