Perforated Brick Facade: Modern House with Layered Architecture

#9385. Perforated Brick Facade: Modern House with Layered Architecture

This modern residential building represents an excellent example of the harmonious combination of functionality and aesthetics. The facade is particularly notable for its upper level, which is clad with perforated brickwork, creating the effect of a semi-transparent shell. This technique not only ensures privacy for interior spaces but also creates an interplay of light and shadow inside.

The second floor is characterized by large glass panels that open up the interior space and visually connect it with the surrounding environment. The landscaped terrace with various plants softens the strict geometry of the building and creates a natural transition between architecture and nature. The first level is partially submerged, allowing for an interesting composition of volumes.

Natural materials are used in the facade finishing — brick, concrete, and glass — giving the building elegance and durability. The contrast between the massive perforated upper volume and the transparent lower one creates a dynamic visual effect. Particularly impressive is the work with lighting: the inner glow through the perforation of the upper floor creates a striking image of the building in the evening.

For private housing, this project demonstrates several useful techniques: the use of perforated screens to create privacy without losing natural light; integration of greenery into architecture; playing with levels and volumes of the building to create interesting spatial solutions; using a limited palette of materials to achieve integrity of image.
