This modern residential house represents an outstanding example of contrast architecture, where industrial aesthetics combines with organic elements. The upper volume of the building is clad with Corten steel panels - a material that over time acquires a characteristic rusty-brown hue, forming a living, ever-changing surface. Particularly noteworthy is the facade perforation: numerous holes of varying sizes create a play of light and shadow, giving visual lightness to the massive structure.
The upper floor, covered with these Corten steel panels, literally overhangs the minimalist lower volume, executed in dark gray. This contrast emphasizes the dynamic composition. The lower level contains the garage door and represents a more closed, introverted part of the house, while the upper floor with its perforated cladding and significant glazing area demonstrates greater openness.
Special attention should be paid to the landscape solution: paving with elements of lawn creates an eco-friendly zone in front of the house, softening the transition between architecture and natural surroundings. The greenery of trees framing the house organically complements the warm color of the Corten steel, creating a harmonious composition.
In a personal project, a similar approach to the facade can be adapted using perforated panels made of more accessible materials. Playing with transparency, protruding volumes, and contrasts of textures and colors will help create an expressive, modern appearance of the building even on a smaller scale.
