#9191. Colonial Mint-Green Facade: Symmetry and Classical Motifs

This specimen of colonial architecture presents an exquisite example of the Sino-European style, characteristic of Southeast Asia. The facade is painted in an elegant mint-green color that harmoniously contrasts with the white architectural elements.

The two-story structure features a symmetrical composition with three arched openings on each level. The upper floor is adorned with graceful Corinthian columns supporting arched vaults. Decorative plaster garlands are placed between the arches, emphasizing the classical motifs of the facade. The ground floor continues the arched theme, creating visual unity throughout the composition.

Particularly noteworthy are the terracotta tiled roof with its characteristic slope and the white wooden doors and windows with traditional ventilation openings above them. The low decorative fence with filigree ventilation panels organically complements the architectural ensemble.

When designing a modern facade, several techniques can be borrowed: symmetrical arrangement of architectural elements, contrasting color schemes, use of classical order systems in contemporary interpretation, and incorporation of functional decorative elements such as ventilation grilles with ornamental motifs.
