Eclectic Art Deco Facade with Egyptian Motifs and Polychrome Finishes

#7306. Eclectic Art Deco Facade with Egyptian Motifs and Polychrome Finishes

The presented facade demonstrates a striking example of Art Deco architecture with Egyptian motifs, which became particularly popular in the early 20th century following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. The central part of the facade is adorned with a large decorative panel featuring ancient Egyptian-style imagery, depicting figures in traditional attire, papyrus plants, and other characteristic elements of Egyptian iconography.

Compositionally, the facade is divided into symmetrical parts with rhythmically arranged window openings. The architectural solution includes intricately crafted decorative elements between floors, executed in light-colored stone that contrasts with the brick masonry on the sides. Particularly noteworthy are the colored decorative inserts in blue ceramic or majolica, which enrich the facade's palette and create an additional visual rhythm.

The lower part of the central panel is decorated with a wave-like pattern in turquoise tones, while a stylized fan-shaped cornice characteristic of Egyptian style is positioned above the entrance. The column capitals are also executed using Egyptian motifs. The entire facade represents a cohesive artistic composition where each element contributes to the overall concept of creating an exotic and majestic appearance of the building.
