Neo-Gothic Brick Mansion with Distinctive Gables and Decorative Facade

#6939. Neo-Gothic Brick Mansion with Distinctive Gables and Decorative Facade

The building presented is a magnificent example of neo-Gothic architecture with Tudor style elements, presumably from the early 20th century. The facade is made of red brick with contrasting white stone inserts, creating a polychromatic effect characteristic of this style. Particularly noteworthy are the Dutch-influenced curved gables, which are not typical for standard neo-Gothic architecture, crowning the projecting parts of the building.

The symmetrical composition of the facade is complemented by three expressive bay windows — two on the sides and one central above the entrance group. The window openings vary in shape and size: large rectangular windows on the first floor contrast with narrower arched windows on the second tier. The entrance area is designed as an arcade with decorative elements and is adorned with Christmas wreaths at the time of photography.

The roof is covered with terracotta tiles and is topped with decorative chimneys laid from the same red brick as the main facade. This solution gives completeness and expressiveness to the building's silhouette.

When designing a facade for a private home in a similar style, it's worth paying attention to the use of contrasting materials, asymmetrical compositional solutions, expressive gables, and bay windows. Even on a smaller scale, expressiveness can be achieved through decorative elements — patterned brickwork, stone window surrounds, brackets, and cornices.
