Majestic Mansion with Neo-Romanesque Facade and Tiled Roof

#6516. Majestic Mansion with Neo-Romanesque Facade and Tiled Roof

Before us stands an excellent example of early 20th century American architecture, combining elements of Neo-Romanesque style and the Arts and Crafts movement. The building's facade presents a harmonious composition of light sandstone and red tile roofing, creating a striking contrast.

This two-story mansion exhibits both monumentality and elegance in its details. The first floor is entirely clad in sandstone masonry with a warm honey-yellow hue. Particularly eye-catching is the massive porch with columns characteristic of Neo-Romanesque style, featuring richly decorated capitals that support a wide overhang.

The upper part of the house is adorned with decorative wooden cladding in a reddish-brown color that echoes the roof. The roof itself has a complex multi-pitched form with an expressive central gable finished in chalet style with decorative woodwork.

The window openings on the first and second floors have different configurations, giving the facade a sense of dynamism. On the second floor, a bay window under a triangular pediment stands out. The entrance is accentuated by an arched portal with a wooden door and decorative lighting.

The landscaping, with its neat lawn and flower beds along the facade, emphasizes the respectability and solidity of this country house, characteristic of American architecture during the height of industrial society.
