Two-tone Art Nouveau façade with decorative elements and bay window

#6146. Two-tone Art Nouveau façade with decorative elements and bay window

Before us is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture, showcasing a fragment of a building façade, likely from the early 20th century. The composition demonstrates the characteristic contrast of materials and textures typical of this style: the combination of terracotta-colored brickwork on the left and light-colored brickwork on the right creates an expressive two-tone scheme.

The façade is richly decorated with artistic elements. On the left, an arched window with stained glass elements stands out, topped by a colorful ornamental motif depicting a stylized peacock figure—a typical Art Nouveau decorative element. On the right, an elegant bay window with multi-part windows framed in white casings draws attention. Of particular artistic value is the decorative band with floral and geometric motifs beneath the bay window, likely executed in majolica or tile work technique.

The central part of the façade features a decorative relief with an inscription, presumably indicating the building's name or its functional purpose. Also noticeable is a round medallion with a solar symbol on the light-colored portion of the façade. The arched elements in the lower part of the building harmoniously combine with the rectangular forms of the upper-level windows, creating rhythmic diversity.

The color palette of the façade is rich: terracotta, cream, green, and golden tones are used, which is characteristic of the Art Nouveau palette. Such attention to decorative details, asymmetry of composition, and the use of natural motifs are typical features of Art Nouveau architecture, which sought to make beauty accessible in everyday life.
