Decorative Art Nouveau Façade with Floral Metalwork and Sculptural Elements

#5858. Decorative Art Nouveau Façade with Floral Metalwork and Sculptural Elements

This is a striking example of an Art Nouveau façade that demonstrates an exquisite combination of decorative and functional elements. The central arched window with wooden brown frames is surrounded by rich architectural decor characteristic of the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.

Above the window, there is a magnificent decorative composition of stylized plant motifs with bluish leaves and golden elements, including several small decorative lanterns. This metal openwork demonstrates fine detailing and the flowing lines typical of Art Nouveau.

On both sides of the window, two sculptural figures in light-colored stone create an impressive compositional symmetry. The left sculpture depicts a female figure in characteristic drapery, while the right one portrays a male figure, possibly an elder or mythological character. These sculptures are organically integrated into the façade's architecture, forming a unified artistic ensemble.

Below the main window runs a decorative band with floral motifs, combining blue and golden elements that echo the upper decor. The lower window features elements of stained glass, further enriching the architectural composition.

This fragment of the façade demonstrates the highest mastery of decorative and applied art from the Art Nouveau era, with its love for natural forms, asymmetry, exquisite decor, and bold combination of materials—stone, metal, and glass.
