Art Nouveau in Brick: Twin Window with Ceramic Panel on a Brick Facade

#4939. Art Nouveau in Brick: Twin Window with Ceramic Panel on a Brick Facade

This facade fragment showcases an exquisite example of Art Nouveau architecture with characteristic brickwork. The composition is centered around a beautiful paired window with green wooden frames. The window opening is formed as an arch with an elegant trefoil at the top, executed in contrasting brick tones.

Of particular interest is the decorative ceramic panel between the windows, rendered in the characteristic Art Nouveau color palette of blue and yellow hues. The panel's ornament features flowing, fluid plant motifs with floral elements, which is a classic technique of the Art Nouveau style. The window framing is made of light-colored stone, creating a striking contrast with the terracotta brick masonry.

The architectural composition demonstrates a thoughtfully considered balance between functionality and decorative elements, where each aspect of the facade, from the brickwork pattern to the ornamental details, creates a harmonious ensemble reflecting the aesthetics of the late 19th to early 20th century.
