#4924. Striped brick facade with arched windows in Dutch Art Nouveau style

Before us is a remarkable example of Dutch architecture from the early 20th century, likely in the Art Nouveau style with elements of Neo-Gothic. The facade is constructed of dark brick with contrasting light elements, creating an expressive striped structure.

The facade features a vertical composition with emphasis on the central axis. The upper part is crowned with a decorative parapet with characteristic small towers at the corners. Particular attention is drawn to the large arched window spanning the second and third floors with a semi-circular completion, framed by brickwork that creates a portal effect.

The ground floor is designed with an entrance group featuring a wide arch and the sign "J. HOOGENVEÉN & CO. B.V.", indicating the commercial purpose of the space. Above it is a large trapezoidal window with an original pattern of frames, topped with a decorative element, possibly a coat of arms.

The play with window shapes—from semi-circular to trapezoidal—is noteworthy, giving the facade dynamism and the asymmetry in details characteristic of Art Nouveau while maintaining the overall symmetry of the composition. The yellow sign at the top of the building serves as a bright accent against the background of dark red brickwork.
