Exquisite Jugendstil: Decorative Facade with Turquoise and Gold Ornamentation

#4837. Exquisite Jugendstil: Decorative Facade with Turquoise and Gold Ornamentation

The building presented showcases a striking example of Art Nouveau architecture with elements of Jugendstil, characteristic of European architecture from the early 20th century. The facade is executed in pastel tones with rich decorative ornamentation.

The composition of the facade is symmetrical, with a central accent featuring five vertical window openings culminating in semi-circular arches on the upper tier. Above them are decorative medallions with gilded relief masks that give the building a ceremonial and theatrical appearance. The crowning part of the facade is adorned with a pediment featuring two circular medallions with floral motifs on a turquoise background.

The color palette of the facade is built on a combination of a beige base with turquoise-blue and golden accents. Decorative elements include plant ornaments characteristic of Art Nouveau, vertical articulations, and rhythmic repeating motifs. Particularly expressive are the decorative panels between floors with turquoise backgrounds and golden ornamental medallions.

On the ground floor of the building is an optical shop "Optik Riess," the entrance to which is designed in accordance with the overall style of the building. The windows of the lower tier have a rectangular shape, while the upper floors demonstrate more complex architectural plasticity.

This building is an excellent example of how functional architecture from the early 20th century combined practicality with highly artistic decorative design, creating a memorable and aesthetically appealing image in urban development.
