Art Nouveau Facade with Blue Mosaic and Sculptural Frieze

#4690. Art Nouveau Facade with Blue Mosaic and Sculptural Frieze

Before us stands an impressive Art Nouveau building, demonstrating the rich artistic techniques of the early 20th century. The facade features a characteristic asymmetrical yet balanced composition with a smooth, wave-like upper cornice line. Particularly noteworthy is the large mosaic panel in the upper section, executed in blue and turquoise tones depicting a complex multi-figure composition.

The facade is divided into three levels. The lower level is designed as a ground floor with curved display windows typical of Art Nouveau and turquoise mosaic inserts. The middle level is adorned with a sculptural frieze with reliefs elegantly framing a row of evenly spaced windows. The upper level culminates in a powerful artistic accent — a large-scale mosaic panel positioned in the semicircular completion of the facade.

The decorative elements characteristic of Art Nouveau are remarkable: curved balcony lines, combinations of various textures and materials — light brick, mosaic, stone, and metal details. The color scheme of the building is built on the contrast between light walls and rich blue and turquoise tones of mosaics, which enhances the decorative effect and emphasizes the sophistication of the architectural solution.
