#4602. Decorative Art Nouveau: Façade with Eagles and Floral Stucco Ornamentation

Before us is an impressive example of early 20th century Art Nouveau architecture. The building's façade displays magnificent decorative elements characteristic of this period. The central composition feature is an arched window-portal, framed by sculptural images of two majestic eagles that serve as symbolic guardians of the building's entrance.

Above the window opening is a medallion with a bas-relief image, presumably of the building's architect or a historical figure. The upper part of the façade is adorned with exquisite stucco decorations featuring floral motifs, which is a typical trait of the Art Nouveau style. Note the harmonious combination of curved lines and floral elements, creating an organic, flowing composition.

The balcony with wrought iron railings in the Art Nouveau style complements the composition, demonstrating the characteristic flowing, botanical forms in metal that define this artistic movement. The color palette of the façade—pastel, light tones—emphasizes the plasticity of the decorative elements and creates a sense of lightness despite the monumentality of the architectural composition.

This is an excellent example of urban architecture where functionality harmoniously combines with decorative elements, and symbolic features (eagles as symbols of grandeur and strength) are organically integrated into the overall concept of the façade.
