#4101. Lace-like Facade of a Wooden Mansion in Russian Ornate Style

The presented image showcases a magnificent example of Russian wooden architecture in an eclectic style with elements of the so-called "Russian uzorochye" (ornate style). The facade of the building impresses with its rich decorative design and skilled woodcarving.

The main compositional element of the facade is the central part with a high spire crowned with a decorative element. The spire has a characteristic onion-shaped base, which refers to the traditions of Russian ecclesiastical architecture. The facade is painted in a soft turquoise color, creating an expressive contrast with the white carved elements.

Particular attention is drawn to the openwork carving of cornices, pediments, and window surrounds. The decorative elements are executed with exceptional craftsmanship: numerous fretwork valances, carved bargeboard, kokoshnik-shaped elements, and brackets create the impression of lace decoration. The central part of the facade is accentuated by a round rose window, framed by decorative elements.

The architectural composition is built symmetrically, with a rhythmic alternation of pediments and decorative elements, which gives the building special harmony. It is worth noting the mastery in the elaboration of details: the fine carving creates a play of light and shadow on the facade, enhancing its expressiveness.
