#2725. Blue Art Nouveau Façade with Neoclassical Mascarons

Before us is an expressive example of an Art Nouveau façade with neoclassical elements. The building demonstrates the contrast of textures and colors characteristic of this style. The façade is decorated with bright blue ceramic tiles that effectively combine with white vertical elements.

The architectural composition is emphasized by the rhythmic alternation of windows and decorative pilasters. The sculptural mascarons in the upper part of the façade deserve special attention — female faces with floral wreaths executed in a classical manner. Below the window openings are bas-reliefs featuring male faces reminiscent of ancient deities or mythological characters.

The crowning cornice is richly decorated with modillions and stucco with floral motifs. The window frames are executed in a dark color, creating an expressive contrast with the main tones of the façade. This combination of rich blue color with white decoration and carefully crafted sculptural elements was characteristic of European Art Nouveau from the early 20th century, when architects sought to combine functionality with artistic expressiveness.
