#2656. Exquisite Art Nouveau façade with allegorical bas-reliefs and delicate ironwork balcony

The image showcases a magnificent fragment of an Art Nouveau façade, crafted from light beige sandstone with characteristic natural veining. The architectural composition is centered around an elegant balcony with dark-colored wrought iron railings forming fluid, flowing lines—a typical element of the Art Nouveau style.

Particularly noteworthy is the arched balcony doorway with a semicircular top and transom windows, framed by relief ornamentation with a decorative cartouche at the upper section. On both sides of the central axis of the façade are sculptural bas-reliefs depicting allegorical figures, harmoniously integrated into the wall. These figures likely symbolize arts, crafts, or natural forces, which was typical for Art Nouveau iconography.

The lower level of the façade features an arched entrance supported by massive corbels with relief decoration. The architectural ensemble is crowned with a decorative row of dentils (tooth-like projections) at the top of the frame, giving the façade a classical touch. In the foreground, elements of modern usage of the space are visible—decorative planters with flowers and open umbrellas, indicating that the building is probably used as a hotel or restaurant.

The compositional integrity, attention to detail, and organic combination of sculptural and architectural elements allow us to classify this building as a high-quality example of European Art Nouveau from the late 19th to early 20th century, possibly of French or German school.
