Modernist Façade with Sundial in Catalan Style

#2107. Modernist Façade with Sundial in Catalan Style

Before us is an exquisite façade of a building in the Catalan Modernisme style, possibly inspired by the works of Antoni Gaudí or his followers. The pediment is executed in light tones with characteristic architectural elements of the modernist era. The central place on the façade is occupied by a decorative sundial, designed as a colorful mosaic with the image of the sun at the top. The clock face is surrounded by ornamental floral motifs in vibrant colors.

The architectural composition of the façade is symmetrical and crowned with a small decorative cross at the ridge of the roof. Particular attention is drawn to the flowing lines of the pediment, creating a sense of movement and organic quality. Below the sundial is a window with wooden shutters, framed by decorative elements. The side parts of the façade are adorned with an ornamental band, and the first-floor balcony is decorated with wrought iron railings featuring floral patterns, which is a typical element of early 20th century Catalan Modernisme.

The color palette of the façade combines pastel shades of walls with bright accents of decorative elements, creating a harmonious composition that looks magnificent against the rich blue sky. The details of the design, including ceramic tiles and mosaics, reflect the high craftsmanship of the artisans of that era and the modernists' love for natural forms and ornaments.
