#19631. Modern facade with contrasting metal and wood: corrugated roofing and dark timber panels

This modern residential house showcases an expressive combination of materials and forms, creating a striking architectural image. The building's facade presents an interesting composition: the upper part is clad in light corrugated metal with vertical patterning that adds dynamism and visual lightness to the uniquely angled roof, while the lower section features dark timber vertical panels framed by wooden battens in a warm tone.

The contrast between the cool silvery metal roofing and the dark wooden walls creates a balanced composition where each material highlights the qualities of the other. Particularly noteworthy are the large sliding glass doors with wooden frames, which not only provide abundant natural light to the interior space but also visually connect the indoor area with the well-maintained exterior courtyard.

When designing a facade for a private home, several techniques from this project could be employed: using contrasting materials to create visual interest, incorporating vertical lines to visually increase the height of the structure, and thoughtfully combining enclosed and open spaces. The understated landscape design with gravel areas, minimalist stone tiles, and compact greenery perfectly complements the contemporary architecture, creating a harmonious living environment.
