#1883. Baroque Portal: Richly Decorated Façade Entrance with Corinthian Columns and Carved Tympanum

A magnificent ceremonial portal executed in the Late Baroque style with elements of Neoclassicism. The façade composition represents an expressive architectural form where the central element is a double wooden door in a warm chestnut hue.

Of particular value is the richly decorated framing, consisting of elegant Corinthian columns with elaborate capitals supporting a semicircular arch. Above the entrance is a semicircular carved tympanum with fan-shaped ornamentation, creating the effect of an opening sun. The upper part of the portal is adorned with a lavish sculptural cartouche and elegant volutes.

The door itself demonstrates fine carpentry work: geometric diamond-shaped elements, crossings, decorative forged details, and ring handles. Glass inserts with metallic patterns organically complement the overall composition. The contrasting combination of light stone framing and warm wood gives the entrance group particular expressiveness and monumentality.

This architectural element is a striking example of European urban architecture from the late 19th to early 20th century, demonstrating the high craftsmanship of stonemasons and carpenters of that time.
