Before us is a magnificent example of urban architecture in a modernized neoclassical style with Art Nouveau elements. The facade of building number 226/20 demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and richness of decorative elements. The central element of the composition is an impressive portal with massive mahogany wooden doors executed in the traditional paneled technique.
The sculptural decoration of the facade deserves special attention. Above the entrance is a decorative frieze with floral ornaments depicting grape clusters and flower motifs — a typical element of the Art Nouveau style from the early 20th century. On both sides of the entrance are exquisite columns with Corinthian capitals, richly adorned with carvings.
The upper part of the facade is decorated with an elegant balcony featuring a balustrade of stone balusters, and above it — tall windows with laconic frames characteristic of the era. The composition is crowned by a magnificent column with a decorative capital executed in the technique of openwork stone carving.
When designing a modern facade, one can draw inspiration from elements such as the proportional relationship of decorative elements, symmetry of composition, and harmonious combination of functional and aesthetic components. Particular attention should be paid to the contrast of textures (smooth plaster and relief ornaments) and the play of light and shadow created by protruding architectural details.
