Exquisite Art Nouveau: Window Portal with Flowing Lines on a Brick Facade

#16282. Exquisite Art Nouveau: Window Portal with Flowing Lines on a Brick Facade

Before us is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture embodied in the design of a window opening on a light brick building facade. The window is framed by an exquisite stone portal with characteristic flowing, fluid lines typical of the early 20th century Art Nouveau style.

Compositionally, the window presents a complex structure: the upper part features two arched openings with dark glass, while the lower part consists of four rectangular sections. An elegant central column gracefully divides the window, creating a rhythmic structure. Particularly noteworthy is the decorative finish of the arch above the window — here we see a geometric ornament in a diamond-shaped insert and a stylized plant motif in the center, characteristic of Art Nouveau.

The window framing is asymmetrically complemented by sculptural elements resembling fabric drapery and plant forms, giving the composition dynamism and organic quality. The contrast between the light stone finish of the window and the brick masonry of the facade enhances the expressiveness of this architectural element.

When designing a modern facade, one can be inspired by this example, using contrasting materials, asymmetrical decorative elements, and stylized natural motifs. Even for a small private house, an accent window with decorative framing can become the central element of the facade composition, giving the building individuality and artistic value.

We design facades of country houses.
