#1443. Elegant Art Nouveau Façade with Decorative Portal and Wrought Iron Elements

Before us stands an exquisite example of early 20th century Art Nouveau – an elegant main entrance to residential building No. 55. The façade demonstrates characteristic features of the Art Nouveau style with its flowing, fluid lines and rich decorative elements.

The entrance group is framed by a luxurious decorative portal made of light-colored stone with intricate stucco work. Particularly noteworthy is the design of the upper section – an elegant molded cartouche with floral motifs, flanked by symmetrical volutes. The cornice above the door is adorned with filigree carvings, creating an effect of lightness despite the massiveness of the structure.

On either side of the entrance are window openings with decorative grilles executed in a unified style. Pilasters with capitals maintain the visual integrity of the composition. Note the sculptural elements at the base of the pilasters – these are stylized plant forms typical of Art Nouveau.

The entrance door itself is double-leafed, wooden, with elegant wrought iron grilles and glass inserts. The forged pattern on the door grilles echoes the ornament on the side window grilles, creating a harmonious ensemble. The house number "55" is neatly placed at the top of the façade.

This façade represents a beautifully preserved example of urban architecture from the Art Nouveau era, when functionality was combined with highly artistic decorative design.
