Terracotta Art Nouveau façade with white stucco decorations

#14299. Terracotta Art Nouveau façade with white stucco decorations

This façade represents an excellent example of an Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) building from the early 20th century. Painted in a soft terracotta color, the façade is adorned with exquisite white stucco decorative elements that create a striking contrast with the main background. The upper part of the building is crowned with a wave-like parapet featuring a central decorative motif of a stylized tree with a lush crown — a characteristic element of the Art Nouveau style, symbolizing natural forms and organic lines.

Particular attention is drawn to the two levels of windows. The upper floor features arched windows with semi-circular completions, while the lower floor displays rectangular windows with clear geometric divisions. Between the window groups on the lower floor is an expressive decorative element in the form of a stylized vase or urn with floral ornaments — another typical Art Nouveau motif.

The façade demonstrates the asymmetry in details characteristic of Art Nouveau while maintaining an overall symmetrical composition. The lower part of the façade is also decorated with relief floral motifs, further emphasizing adherence to the style. When designing a façade for a private home, one can borrow techniques such as the use of contrasting colors, natural motifs in decoration, undulating lines, and plant ornaments — these will give the structure individuality and artistic value.
