#1372. Eclectic Façade with Floral Stone Ornamentation

This façade fragment represents a striking example of decorative architectural plastic, characteristic of the eclectic style of the late 19th - early 20th century. The white stone cladding contrasts with the terracotta background of the wall, creating an expressive play of light and shadow.

Special attention is drawn to the elegant column capitals adorned with floral motifs – stylized sunflowers or daisies framed by leaves. The column in the center of the composition features distinctive decorative bands with geometric ornaments.

On either side of the central column are symmetrical bas-reliefs with laurel branches tied with ribbons – a classical motif of triumph and glory. Above them continues the architectural order with brackets supporting the cornice.

The entire composition demonstrates virtuoso stonework typical of the historicism period, when architects and sculptors drew inspiration from classical forms but interpreted them more freely and decoratively.
