Exquisite 1900 Facade: Historic Doorway with Rich Stone Carvings

#1366. Exquisite 1900 Facade: Historic Doorway with Rich Stone Carvings

The image showcases a magnificent historical doorway portal of a building constructed in 1900, as evidenced by the date engraved above the entrance. This example of early 20th-century architecture displays rich eclectic decoration characteristic of the late historicism period.

The facade features exquisite stone carving and decorative elements. The massive doorway is framed by a semi-circular arch with meticulously crafted ornamentation. On both sides of the door are decorative columns with richly adorned capitals. The brackets supporting the upper part of the portal demonstrate masterful stone carving with floral motifs.

The door itself is a beautiful example of carpentry — double-leaf, made of dark wood with six glazed sections protected by elegant wrought iron grilles with gilded decorative elements. The contrast between the warm tone of the wood and the cool shade of the stone framing creates an expressive architectural accent.

Above the portal is the house number — 222, which together with the construction date (1900) forms part of the architectural composition. The entire portal structure demonstrates attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship typical of prestigious urban buildings from the beginning of the last century.
