#1198. Terracotta Portal: Neoclassical Facade with Corinthian Capitals and Carved Oak Door

Before us is an elegant portal of a historic building, executed in neoclassical style using terracotta-colored sandstone. The facade solution of the entrance group demonstrates classical proportions and expressive architectural details. The central element of the composition is an oak wooden door with a geometric relief pattern and small glass inserts in the upper part, allowing natural light to penetrate into the vestibule.

The portal is framed by two massive columns with decorative Corinthian capitals that support an entablature with a frieze. Above the doorway is a wide architrave with a central medallion and geometric panels. The side walls are made of roughly processed stone, creating a contrast with the smooth surface of the columns and door framing.

The entrance is elevated above street level and accessible by a small staircase with wrought iron railings of artistic work, which gives the entire composition monumentality and grandeur. The brass or bronze threshold of the door adds an elegant touch to the overall image. The textural variety of materials—from the rough stone walls to the polished wood of the door—creates a rich visual palette characteristic of historical architecture from the late 19th to early 20th century.
