Before us is a striking example of early 20th century modernist architecture, presumably in the Catalan style. The façade of building No. 198 showcases a wealth of decorative elements characteristic of a period when ornamentation was considered an integral part of architectural language.
The façade features a symmetrical composition with two elegant bay windows on either side, crowned with wrought iron balcony railings. Particularly noteworthy is the lush stone carving in the lower part of the façade — a vegetal ornament with volutes and acanthus leaves creates the impression of an organic, almost fluid surface. The house number "198" is integrated into the central part of this decorative band.
The bay windows are decorated with colored glass featuring characteristic blue stripes, which adds additional expressiveness to the façade. The central window of the second floor is framed by an exquisite carved platband and complemented by wooden shutters. The architectural plasticity of the façade is further emphasized by the contrast between the smooth wall surfaces and richly decorated elements.
The ground floor houses commercial spaces: on the left, a hardware store "Ferreteria ALVI," and on the right, a physiotherapy center "fisioessència," which is typical for this type of urban development where public functions are integrated into residential buildings.
