Modern facade with contrasting materials: harmony of wood, concrete and glass

#11389. Modern facade with contrasting materials: harmony of wood, concrete and glass

The presented modern building demonstrates a striking example of modernist architecture with elements of constructivism. The house facade features a bold combination of various materials and textures: warm wood, cold concrete, and abundant glass create visual contrast and dynamics.

Compositionally, the facade is divided into several volumes of different heights and sizes, giving the building a sense of lightness despite its monumentality. The interplay of horizontal and vertical lines is particularly expressive: the horizontal wooden cladding of the upper level contrasts with vertical concrete elements and large panoramic windows.

The cantilevered projection with wooden ceiling finish creates a sheltered terrace and outdoor dining area, organically connecting the interior space with the landscape. Wide steps leading from the terrace to the lawn emphasize the connection between architecture and surrounding nature.

When designing your own facade, several techniques from this project can be utilized: contrasting combination of materials (wood, concrete, glass), playing with volumes of different heights to create a dynamic composition, using large glazed surfaces for maximum light penetration, and integrating open spaces (terraces, patios) into the overall architectural concept.
