Victoria Passage is an excellent example of historical commercial architecture with distinct Neo-Gothic elements. The façade is finished with warm red-brown brick that contrasts beautifully with the sandy-beige architectural elements made of stone or plaster. The central feature is a majestic archway leading into the passage with "VICTORIAPASSAGEN" inscribed above the opening. This arch is executed in a semi-circular style and framed by massive architectural elements.
On both sides of the central entrance are storefront windows framed by pointed arches, typical of Neo-Gothic style. The upper tier of the façade is adorned with similar pointed windows, creating a harmonious composition and visual rhythm. The decorative finish of the arches deserves special attention – fine carving and ornamental elements give the building an exquisite appearance.
Beneath the main section of the façade, a frieze band with painted decoration is visible, adding historical context and artistic value to the building. The façade design shows careful attention to detail: the capitals of columns framing the arched openings are skillfully decorated with floral ornaments.
For modern private construction, several techniques can be borrowed from this example: the contrasting combination of façade materials (brick and light-colored stone), the use of arched elements to add expressiveness to the building, and the application of decorative details on key architectural elements to create accents. Even on the modest scale of a private home, well-considered proportions of arches and window openings can create an elegant and harmonious appearance.
