The "Architecture of the Spirit" exhibition. The finale of the Open City festival
From November 14 to 17, the Shchusev Museum of Architecture invites you to the "Architecture of the Spirit" exhibition, the finale of the annual Open City festival. The exhibition centers on philosophical reflections about sacred spaces and humanity's spiritual touchstones, presented through the "mysterious garden" project, which brings together contemporary architectural ideas.
The projects, curated by leading architectural firms including SPEECH, KAMEN, and MAD Architects, offer a glimpse into the role of architecture in conceptualizing good and evil. St. Anne's Lutheran Church (Annenkirche) and architect Polina Svetozarova will also present their ideas.
A special exhibit will be Alexander Brodsky's etching laboratory, which explores techniques for creating deep visual effects on paper.
The festival's purpose and program
"Open City" was launched by Moscow's chief architect, Sergey Kuznetsov, to involve architecture students in real projects alongside leading experts. The program includes lectures, workshops, and field trips, concluding with an exhibition that presents the results of their joint research. The festival is organized by the Moscow City Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning (Moskomarkhitektura) with the support of the Rules of Communication agency.
The exhibition is free of charge but requires advance registration.
