#9924. Two-level house with contrasting facade: combination of wood and white plaster

The presented modern residential house demonstrates an expressive contrast of materials and forms. The facade combines several key elements: warm honey-amber wooden cladding, minimalist white plastered surfaces, and glass elements. The architectural composition is built on a play of volumes — curved white walls of the ground floor contrast with the more geometric upper level clad in wood.

The semi-open space on the second floor with a canopy deserves special attention, creating a protected terrace with metal railings. The thoughtful glazing system provides abundant natural light to the interior spaces, while the wooden shutters on the windows serve not only a functional but also an aesthetic role, adding textural pattern to the facade.

When designing your own house, you could adopt several techniques: contrasting combination of materials (wood/plaster), use of various geometric forms to create visual interest, integration of enclosed and open spaces, as well as a well-thought-out landscape solution with paved paths and strategically placed lamps that highlight the architecture of the building in the evening.
