Two-material Contrast Facade: Brick and Metal Panel Combination

#9585. Two-material Contrast Facade: Brick and Metal Panel Combination

Here we see an excellent example of a modern residential house with a contrasting facade solution that combines two main materials — textured gray brick and dark vertical metal panels. The asymmetrical composition with multi-level pitched roofs gives dynamism to the entire structure.

The facade demonstrates an interesting dialogue between textures and materials: the lower part of the house is faced with brick featuring a heterogeneous gray surface that creates visual depth, while the upper part is finished with strict dark metal panels that emphasize the modern character of the architecture. This technique of vertical zoning visually "lightens" the upper part of the building.

The window openings are designed laconically — large rectangular windows without decorative elements with dark frames that create an expressive contrast with the light brickwork. Particularly interesting is the large panoramic opening in the left part of the facade, reflecting the surrounding environment and visually expanding the space.

A small second-floor terrace with metal railings and a wooden deck at the entrance softens the overall strictness of the composition, adding tactility and warmth. The minimalist entrance group with a simple door and laconic stone slab pathway emphasizes the functional approach in design.

When designing your own facade, you can adopt techniques such as: contrasting combination of different materials; use of vertical articulation for visual adjustment of proportions; working with multi-level volumes; minimalist window design with an emphasis on one panoramic window; and natural material shades that will harmoniously fit into any environment.
