Terracotta Accent Facade with Contrasting Geometry

#9390. Terracotta Accent Facade with Contrasting Geometry

This modern house represents an interesting example of contrast architecture with a pronounced accent facade. The upper level is completely clad in terracotta (brick-orange) color, creating a powerful visual accent. The geometry of the upper volume is designed in the form of a clean rectangular parallelepiped with minimalist window openings that cut into the volume, creating an interesting play of light and shadow.

The lower level is designed quite differently — it is executed in light tones with an extensive garage space equipped with folding metal gates in gray. These gates have an interesting feature: they can be completely opened, transforming the lower level into an open space, adding functionality to the entire structure.

To the right of the main volume of the house, there is an additional block in yellow, which further emphasizes the polychromatic composition of the facade. This color fragmentation gives the building a dynamic character, despite the simple geometric forms.

In designing your own facade, you can borrow the idea of contrasting color combinations, the use of protruding volumes, and playing with geometry. The key technique is creating an accent upper level that dominates the more functional lower floor with its color and form. It's also interesting to use large transformable elements (like folding gates) that can change the appearance and functionality of the building depending on needs.
