Mosaic Façade with Wrought Iron Railings in Art Nouveau Style

#914. Mosaic Façade with Wrought Iron Railings in Art Nouveau Style

This architectural element represents an expressive example of a closed gallery or loggia on a building façade, likely in Art Nouveau or early modern style. The façade features a rich coloristic solution — its main part is occupied by a large surface covered with colored ceramic tiles in pastel shades (blue, green, ochre), which create a characteristic checkerboard pattern.

The railing of the upper balcony is made of wrought iron with an elegant ornamental design and vertical balusters. The lower part of the gallery ends with a decorative railing featuring geometric patterns, where circles are elegantly incorporated into a metal grid. This motif reflects the influence of geometric forms popular in architecture at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.

The architectural solution emphasizes the contrast between the light stone part of the main façade and the dark metal framing of the glazed surfaces. This technique of highlighting bay windows or closed galleries was characteristic of European architecture of the late 19th - early 20th century, especially for urban mansions and apartment buildings.
