#908. Barcelona Art Nouveau: Floral Bay Window with Rich Stucco Facade Decoration

The architectural structure presented in the photograph showcases an exquisite example of an Art Nouveau bay window (oriel). The façade features refined decorative elements with abundant use of floral motifs typical of this style. The bay window has a semicircular shape with three large windows with green frames that create an expressive contrast with the beige color of the façade.

The rich stucco decoration framing the bay window deserves special attention. Sculptural elements in the form of flowers, leaves, and plant ornaments encircle the upper and lower parts of the structure, giving it exceptional sophistication and plasticity. The textured wall finish, imitating stonework, contrasts with the smooth surface of the decorative elements.

At the bottom of the photograph, a sign reading "PERRUQUERIA D'HOMES" indicates the commercial use of the ground floor (men's barbershop), which is typical for urban architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when ground floors were often allocated to retail and service establishments.

The architectural composition of the bay window demonstrates mastery in creating volume and playing with light through curved lines and multi-level structure. The thin green window frames and white curtains inside the room add lightness and elegance to the facade, despite the abundance of decorative elements.
